Posted by Dorothy under Community Interests, Wellnessno responses

Waking up in the morning after a good night’s sleep creates a feeling of postiveness around a person. This is an important attitude to have as it goes on to benefit the people around you and the way in which you carry out your daily activities. In order to encourage better sleep patterns after a busy day, especially for those who sit at their desk for work , it will be beneficial to ease the strain in the spine and lower back with simple stretches that can be done in bed and better still, even in your pajamas. The following are five stretches which are so simple it can be done by anyone young and old, whether you are a yoga enthusiast or not. The instructions are short and simple to follow. Gutsy Lil’ Ones Chopping Their Locks For Charity

I am helping two kids, Myra 9 and Arya 8 to rake in money to help ease the burdens of underprivileged families whose kids are battling cancer. These 2 gutsy and selfless kids have adopted kindness and compassion at such young ages. It’s not that they think its a cool idea to shock their schoolmates and teachers with bald heads, but the fact that hair will always grow and lives once lost cannot be replaced.

Supportive musician parents, Reena Shan and Eric Kok are still in shock over such a big leap of decision made by their girls. Nevertheless, like any good parents, they have explained and discussed with Myra and Arya about what they will have to go through when they get back to school. To add on to that, they have made their kids watch videos on you tube of people cutting and shaving their hair bald. With all that, their decisions to go bald still hold.

As a proud friend of  Reena and Eric who have taught these girls values half the adults in the world do not even hold or dare to claim they hold, I am calling out to anyone out there to help pledge for this cause that these two beautiful girls have decided to support. In this era, kids of such ages with big hearts and admirable values are hard to come by. I cannot express my gratitude to you girls, Myra and Arya for being selfless and for having such a BIG heart. Aunty Dorothy is very proud of the both of you:)

To pledge, please bank in to:

Bank: Maybank
Names: Myra Anne / Reena Shanmuganathan
Account #: 1144 7809 4596
Please notify me at 019-6520683 or Reena if you are a friend of hers as soon as the transaction is made.

If you are wondering about what will happen to all those hair, do not worry as it will be shipped to Thailand to be turned into wigs for cancer patients. If any of you are around Kuala Lumpur on the 3rd February, you can head to Waikiki Bar after 4 pm where more than 20 people will participate in the balding event:)
